( UK) DEATH METAL On April 7 2003 scene stalwarts Desecration had been intending to release a re-recording of their debut 'Gore and Perversion', on Copro Rcds, cleverly re-titled 'Gore and PerVersion2'. The aforementioned debut (recorded for original label Arctic Serenades) only saw the light of day in a horribly truncated fashion, because before the label had a chance to release it the UK High Courts took offence at the 'explicit and obscene' material it contained. They took such offence, in fact, that they raided frontman Ollie Jones' house and seized all the production masters. When the album was eventually released it was mastered from a recovered cassette copy of the record that the Police had missed in the raid!!! Obviously the sound quality suffered and the band have always been keen to put this right. Hence the re-recording! But, horror of horrors, now the re-release itself is causing trouble. This time the 'obsene' album artwork has resulted in printing plants refusing to work on the record! If the Welsh death-sters can find a less prudish printing plant then Copro Records still hope to meet the April 7 release date!
