(NL) METAL CHIRAW, a fusion of the words: chi and raw. Chi or Qi in its Chinese origin stand for: vital energy and raw just states the pure form of this energy thats filling the air when CHIRAW takes the stage. Formed and based in Overijssel, the Netherlands in 2006, CHIRAW are a combination of heavy, energized, brutal riffs, industrial atmospheric samples, crystal clean melodies, killer shouts and ground pounding beats to energize the scene. From the beginning , with their first EP: Resurrection! Chiraw did as many shows as possible in every pit, bar, club, festival they were allowed to grace, including winnig the Aardschok/Jägermeister Metal Bash competition in 2006. The following year in2007, they record their first full-length album. ‘DARK FREQUENCIES’ (Rusty Cage Records) a monstrous metal assault stuffed with groove, melody and aggression. The band supporterd the album with shows and to bands such as Sepultura, Textures, Hatesphere, Volbeat, Madina Lake, Dry Kill Logic and others. And the band then set to record again their follow up second album “ Scarecrows And Lullabies” And in 2010 the album was recorded, mixed & mastered by Jochem Jacobs at the Split Second Sound Studio in Amsterdam. And now signed to Casket Music (UK) CHIRAW the album is released in May 2011. They are ready to hit the road and crush stages!!
